7:00 pm - Italian Sips from Early 1900's
Fauré composed his 9 Préludes at Lake Orta, Italy in 1910-1911. Enjoy drinks inspired by the Piedmont region before an aural sampling of his préludes.
7:30 pm - Performance
Préludes op. 103, nos. 1-3 by Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924)
Three préludes by Fauré, accompanied by readings from his book, Wanderings in Italy, and old footage of the Italian lakes.
Piano Sonata no. 3 in B minor, op. 58 by Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)
Chopin wrote his last piano sonata in 1844, a year before Fauré's birth. Dedicated to his friend and patron, Comtesse Élise de Perthuis, the sonata is one of his most technically and musically difficult works.
Mottscapes: Original Compositins by Dustin Gledhill
Inspired by the many bridges over the Harlem River in Mott Haven, Bronx, these original compositions are quiet pieces for introspective moments, paying hommage to Debussy, Fauré and Satie. Mottscapes 1 will be released later this Summer. Pre-save the release below!
